Internet and Media

Though the internet has made the media communication very easy and fast, at the same time, it has caused some challenges as well.  For example, people get their news online and don't really go for newspapers anymore.  The advertising which is the number one revenue for newspapers has been impacted, because now the advertising is on websites rather than newspapers.  Books can be downloaded on devices like "Kindle" and "Ipad" and there goes the soft/hard copy of the books. 
Internet also helps media by able to post breaking news online right away.  The information can reach around the world in a matter of moments now. 

A Few Good Men

I am sure many of you must have seen "A Few Good Men".  I have seen it several times, and I saw it again last night, however it never gets old.  It is one of those movies you can watch over and over and it never seems to loose its thrill factor.  The quote "You need me on that wall,  you want me on that wall"! is just amazing.  If you have not seen it, I highly recommend it.  Great movie.

Travelling with a newborn

We are going to Canada this week with our newborn to meet family.  Any advice for travelling with newborn on the plane?  For sure, I am nervous and feel like I am not prepared at all. 

NE vs NYJ

So it is NE vs the Jets today.  I am fairly new to the American Football scene.  I hear that there is a major rivalry among these teams?  Anyone can fill me in?

Changing diapers

So I have been a dad now for a little over two weeks and I am getting comfortable changing diapers.  I am thinking it is something that you get better with as you do more.. atleast that is what my wife tells me.. I am sure she is trying to make me do more..lol...

So far in this course

I took this course since it sounded interesting and it also fulfills my IT elective requirement. 

I hope to learn some new things about the internet, making good use of the internet and overall learning things that I didn't already know.  So far it has been interesting.  I feel a little lost, with the forum, discussion and stuff but I should get a hang of it soon. 

Topics that are interest to me are current news, entertainment, sports, technology to name a few..

Previous experience with internet has been, I use internet pretty much all day.  To check email, get news, education - online classes and work.  There are more, at this time I think this is good to know.

Who am I?

My name is Murtaza and I am a full time continuing ed student here at UML working towards my Bachelor's in IT and minoring in Business. I expect to graduate in Spring of 2011.  I hope I can keep up with my day work load and also my school work load.

I recently became a DAD and that is keeping me busy for sure... 


I also work full time in Sales. We sell UPS - Uninterruptible Power Supplies. I love Sales and hope that my degree will help me with my career.
